Director
"Iannone's articulate, commanding spirit comes through in the characters she's written and the actors she's directed."
- BroadwayWorld.comIn both her professional and educational directing career, Angela is interested in examining and adapting high style, complex language, high technique pieces for a contemporary audience and the emerging professional actor. She has a great fondness for Restoration, 18th and 19th Century texts, as she finds the issues examined have great relevance to current contemporary social questions, and the styles require the actor to be vocally agile, intellectually brisk and physically expressive. She enjoys collaborating with Movement and Style Specialists, SAFD-certified Fight Directors and with IDI-trained Intimacy Directors. This allows the students or performers to see immediate practical applications of the styles required, and further their own training and seasoning. She recently presented her primary source Shakespeare Promptbook work, and scene work from one of the plays in The Edwin Booth Play Cycle for the Center for Excellence in Classical Theatre Training conference at University of Oklahoma at Oklahoma City.
